1. SIMPLY, E-MAIL A PHOTO TO PAINTINGS.PORTRAITS@GMAIL.COM :
Choose A Photo Of Your Pet That Is Taken At Eye Level With Your Pet. Personality Shots Are Great.Phone Cameras Today Are Taking Some Very Detailed Photos.(OK), That's A Great Photo To Work From. What Is Your Pet's Name? I Would Love To Hear All About Your Pet.
2. CHOOSE A SIZE FOR THE PORTRAIT AND ART MEDIUM -PENCIL OR OIL PAINTING :
Consider Where You Will Be Hanging Your New Portrait. One Way To Choose The Size Is Place Strips Of Masking Tape On The Wall The Size You Would Like And Stand Back To Look And See If That Works With The Entire Room. Imagine Your Portrait There. Consider Also The Size Of Your Pet. Larger The Dog, Larger The Portrait. Pencil Portraits Can Be As Large As 18 x 24. Oil Paintings As Large As 24 x 30. Most Clients With Small Dogs Or Cats Choose 11 x 14 or 16 x 20 Size. You Can Also Choose A Custom Size.
3. HOW SOON DO YOU NEED YOUR PORTRAIT
Will It Be A Gift For A Family Member For Christmas? Or Can You Wait A Month While It Is Painted . A Graphite Pencil Sketch Usually Takes Just A Week. Where As, An Oil Painting Takes A Month. Larger Oils Take Longer. I Will Always Let You Know A Time Frame And If There Is A Wait Period Because Of Other Clients.
4. I GIVE YOU UPDATES AS THE PORTRAIT PROGRESSES :
You Get To See How I Work. I Sketch Just An Outline Sketch For Your Approval And Send You An Email Photo. After You Approve The Outline Sketch , I Start On The Pencil Portrait. If You Choose An Oil Painting Instead Of Pencil, I Also Sketch An Outline Sketch For Your Approval Before Starting On The Oil Painting. My Process Then Begins On Canvas With Stretcher Bars. I paint An Underpainting In Brown Color Only And Then Paint The Background Color. (Let Me Know If You Have A Color In Mind For The Background.) After The Background Dries I Start Adding Color On Top Of The Underpainting Until The Portrait Is Finished. While It Is Drying (It Can Take A Week To Dry.) I Send You An Email Photo With A Watermark Over The Photo, For Your Approval Before Mailing.
5. YOU CAN CHOOSE A HEAD AND SHOULDERS PORTRAIT OR FULL BODY :
Check My Price Page At ArtByTeresaPuckett.Com. Also, I Will Be Happy To Give You A Quote.
6. DEPOSIT :
There Is A Deposit To Commission An Oil Painting . A $50.00(Deposit) $100.00 (For Larger Art) - The Deposit Is For Canvas And Supplies, And Is Not Required For Pencil.
7. MAILING :
For The Past 20 Years I Have Mailed Portraits , So Far, All Have Arrived Safely. The Portrait Is Mailed With Tracking And Insurance And If Damaged, Please Mail Back For A Refund. Sorry, I Can Not Refund Mailing And Shipping Charges. Your Satisfaction Is Very Important To Me.
8. WHEN THE PAINTING IS A GIFT:
Buying A Gift Card For The Frame Is A Good Idea. If You Choose Oil Portrait, A Frame Can Accent The Painting. My Paintings Can Also Be Hung On A Wall Without A Frame. (Because I Paint On A Canvas With Wood Stretcher Bars.) If You Choose A Pencil Portrait It Will Need To Be Framed Under Glass, With Or Without A Mat. There Are Ready Made Frames That Will Work For My Sizes And Also, Custom Framing Sizes .
9. I CAN TALK TO YOU ABOUT YOUR PORTRAIT ON THE PHONE :
Please Send Me Your Phone Number And I Will Call You To Talk Over Details About Your Portrait.
10. WHEN THE PORTRAIT IS FINISHED :
I Can Mail The Portrait To You Or We Can Meet At A Framing Counter At A Craft Store In The Charlotte, NC Area, (To Show You,Your Portrait.). And Next, Enjoy Your portrait.
It Would Be A Joy To Sketch Or Paint A Portrait For You. Portraits Make Great Gifts. Love Shared.
